Don't spend premium picks on positions you can replace every week. Defense and kicker are matchup commodities — take them in the last two rounds and rotate them on schedule strength all season. In shallower formats, quarterback and tight end can often be played as a weekly matchup too: pair a mid-tier passer facing a soft pass defense with a streamable option the following week and you've replaced a sixth-round quarterback for free. Concentrate your real draft equity at running back and wide receiver, where week-to-week replacement is hardest and the talent drop-off is steepest.
